Products & Practices
Each garment is designed to make changing and dressing times easy. Elasticated waists are used so when you are doing nappy changing, potty training or at the stage of your small dressing themselves, the item in question can easily be removed and replaced. Also, by using elasticated waists mean the garment sits comfortably on your child and doesn't restrict their bodies when growing. The elastic softly stretches as your child grows so you get more longevity out of each garment.
Why we chose to use Natural Fabrics & preloved Textiles:
Linen and Cotton are known to be strong fibres. And they both have amazing properties that ticked a lot of boxes for the Brand. The strength of the fiber directly contributes to the strength of the fabric the garment is made of. Thus, making the items long-lasting. Cotton garments can last you a while but a linen garment will go way beyond that if looked after correctly. So combined they make a great base cloth. With each wash the fabric becomes softer, making it lovely against your smalls skin. There are soooo many textiles already out there so using up these whether their previous life was a pair of jeans, a shirt or even curtains mean we are keeping these textiles out of landfill for longer.
Printing:
We searched tirelessly to find a UK printer that share the same responsible ethos as us. No manufacturing process is without impact on the environment however Digital Textile Printing is certainly one of the friendlier in today's UK textile industry.
The inks used by the printers to produce our designs are certificated as Azo dye free. The dyes are cured using a combined pressure and dry heat process that does not require water.
Waste:
We strongly believe in Slow Fashion and do not follow seasons or trends.
We produce garments in very small quantities or made to order. We strategically cut the garments to reduce waste fabric as much as possible.
We produce all garments in-house which reduces the cost and environmental impact of shipping and transportation over the life of producing each garment.
All the packaging we use to send out the products to you are either recyclable materials - paper packaging or biodegradable. We encourage this packaging to be recycled or composted by the recipient. We don't particularly like fancy packaging. The more fancy it is the more it costs you and we think there isn't much point in unnecessary costs, so we like to keep it simple and fit for its purpose.
Care:
All the fabrics we use are easy to care for and our garments can be machine washed on a cool setting. DO NOT use any bleach or harsh detergents with whiteners as this can rot the fabrics.
We would not recommend to tumble dry the garments, the best way to dry them is to let them dry naturally. The sooner you hang the garments out to dry after washing will dramatically reduce the amount the fabric creases.
Natural fibres like linen and cotton will wrinkle and crease. You just have to accept this as part of the look. However, if you really want to iron the garment, please use a medium heat with a pressing cloth whilst the garment is still damp.
